Film Workshop

A film workshop is a local screening of the sort that a Film Club migh engage in - but it is a workshop. There are a number of formats we can devise, and on this page we exlore some of them.

# Provocations

We show short film clips, or present a topic live and film the presentation to be displayed remotely as a short film clip, in order to create a provocation suitable for creative community discussion.

# Hybrid Workshops

These community discussions are structured around small group work, that can take place in a hybrid meeting context - that is either purely online, fully offline or some mixture of both. We use film and filming as a mechanism to connect remote deliberations across time and space.

# World Café Format The workshops are largely based on world café or knowledge café formats. On occassion a more familiar panel discussion can be used with invited guests. In all cases the aim is to engagte the audience in discussion, and to record a summary of these discussions to add to the anarchive.

# Tools A film workshop seeks to show films, or clips of films for the purpose of engaging an audience in critical discussions around the themes and issues the film bring up. That is the workshop seeks to exemplify the purpose of fair use and fair dealing, and not engage audiences for the purpose of entertainment.
